NEW FUNDING!

In June-July 2023, the INCAT group has been awarded 3 National projects funded by MIUR and PNRR and 1 Local project funded by the Levi Cases Center! Thanks to this funding, in the next 2 years, we will work on the production of green hydrogen from water and urea electrolysis, and the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to high-value chemicals.

Francesca Arcudi joins the INCAT group as Rita Levi Montalcini Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTDB)

The "Rita Levi Montalcini" Program for Young Researchers is a program of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. The purpose of the program is to promote the internationalization of Italian Universities by recruiting outstanding scholars and experts working abroad to carry out a research project at an Italian University of their choice. The program identifies high-level research projects and finances them with a research grant. The winners of the program are directly hired to the role of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor by an Italian University.

Francesca Arcudi was awarded the "Rita Levi Montalcini" Program for Young Researchers (call 2020) and she choose the University of Padua to conduct her research activity. She was appointed as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTDB) in the Department of Chemical Sciences where she joined the INCAT group in December 2022.

Francesca earned her doctoral degree under the supervision of Maurizio Prato in 2017 at the University of Trieste. Francesca joined Northwestern University as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2018. She worked in the laboratory of Emily A. Weiss thanks to fellowships funded by the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Energy. She studied the properties of functionalized colloidal nanocrystals, known as quantum dots, and colloidal photocatalysis. She has also developed new photocatalytic strategies for reactions of industrial relevance. Her primary scientific interests lie in the field of energy and her studies deal with areas such as nanotechnology and photochemistry. In the capacity of Rita Levi Montalcini Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Francesca looks to develop new design frameworks for light-powered reactions to produce fuels and commodity chemicals.
